College 101: Study Tips

Since this is just about the time for the first exams of the semester I thought it would be a perfect time to share my study tips.
  1. Put together a study plan - I always take a sheet of paper and make a check list of all the things I want to study; homeworks, lectures, book chapters etc. That also gives you the satisfaction of crossing something off when you're done an helps you to gauge how much time you have left.
  2. Organize all your study material - It's important to make sure you have everything you need to study from. And I always organize it in chronological order, start from the beginning and end with the ending.
  3. STAY OFF FACEBOOK - Also pinterst, tumblr, twitter, instagram or whatever distracts you. This is my hardest thing because the first thing I do when I get on my computer is open facebook. Also turn your phone off so you don't get constantly interrupted by texts and snapchats and whatever.
  4. Listen to music without words - Or something relaxing like Frank Sinatra.
  5. Get out of your room - I always like to go to Starbucks because they play relaxing music, I can get caffeine, they have free wifi, and usually plenty of table space and outlets. I get too distracted in my room I am constantly wanting to clean or paint my nails or whatever.
  6. Quizlet - I use this website for everything. It's basically like online flashcards. You can also take the info you put into it and make a practice test. I'm very bad at memorizing but this website makes it a lot easier.
  7. Take breaks - Not so often that your breaks are more than your studying but enough that you stay sane. I like to do a 20 minute break for every hour and a half of studying.

That's all I got! Good luck on all your exams, now to get back to studying for mine. :)

What is your #1 study tip?
xoxo Natalie
