One of my new favorite things is subscription boxes! I just think they're so fun because its like getting a present from a stranger since everything in them is a surprise. They can be pretty expensive so subscribing to one is definitely a "treat yo self" moment for me. The only problem with subscription boxes is that they can be pretty hit or miss. Sometimes they're great and sometimes not so great. Recently, I hit the jackpot. If you've never heard of Pusheen Cat then you have some research to do. Recently, Pusheen released a subscription box. Once I read about it I was pretty convinced it would be a good deal because it's a seasonal box and not monthly which usually means that the boxes can be filled with higher quality items. Then, after looking through pictures on Instagram with #pusheenbox I was totally convinced. The items were so cute and it seemed that every box was getting better! Today I got my first box, the Fall box, and did a full unboxing for you. Hopefully, next time I can do a video unboxing. First of all, the box is as cute as can be! It has Pusheen Cat printed on it even down to his little bean feet on the bottom of the box. I was a little surprised at how good of shape the box was in. They had a protective plastic layer around the whole box which probably helped it to look so clean. The inside of the box is equally cute so bonus points for adorable packaging. It was also apparent that the box was stuffed full of goodies. Right on top was a card that listed everything in the box on it, which I immediately threw to the side so that it wouldn't ruin the surprise of unwrapping it all myself. Under the card was a sweatshirt. It's medium weight so its perfect for layering. It's so cute with Pusheen printed all over it and I really liked that it wasn't overly Fall themed so that I can wear it all year round. It was a little more fitted than I normally would pick for a sweatshirt but I still really like it. The next thing in the box is a set of cat ears and a tail so that you can dress up as Pusheen for Halloween. Honestly this is the only item in the box that I probably won't use. They're still cute and and are much better quality than I expected and they're also extremely soft. Who knows, maybe if I need a last minute costume in the future then these will be perfect The next thing in the box is a holographic notebook. The design is adorable and very fitting with the theme of Fall. It's a nice size, about 5" x 7" so it can easily fit into a normal size purse. I like that it's metal bound since that's more durable than the plastic spiral notebooks. The only negative I have to say about the notebook is that the pages are thin but that's not too bad. I'll probably use it to write down blog ideas. Under the notebook was a tea cup and saucer. Like the actual box, the packaging is adorable. The design of the tea cup is super cute! Unfortunately, it is not microwave or dishwasher safe so I am a little worried that the design will wash off easily. It also came with a little scratch in the plate, it's so small though that it's barely noticeable. I'll definitely use it for tea on chilly Fall nights. Every box comes with an exclusive vinyl figure. I think this is the most valuable part of the box since these figures are only available through the box subscriptions. This month's is already going for $45-$65 on Ebay and previous ones are going for upwards of $175 (idk who is actually buying it for this much though). This box's figure is an cute Halloween bat. It's unique because it's pale purple and not the grey that Pusheen normally is. It's also larger than I was expecting. I think this might be my favorite item in the box. Lastly, there were the filler items. Normally these are the items in a box that I never end up using but from this box (and what I've seen from previous boxes) the filler items are actually really nice. On the far left is an air freshener that is pumpkin scented. I like the scent a lot because it's not too overpowering, I think a lot of times pumpkin scent can have too much of a cinnamon mixed in which just makes it too strong for me. This scent of this air freshener is nice because it is subtly pumpkin with a flowery scent too. One of the other fillers is a pen with a cute little Pusheen dangle on it. It writes smoothly, so that's basically my whole review on the pen haha. This box also came with a little pad of sticky notes. The design is super cute and they stick well on surfaces unlike most novelty sticky notes that I've gotten before. The last item in this box is silicone coasters. There were three in this set and all different Pusheen poses. They're a nice size and have a slightly sticky bottom so they won't slip around. I like that they're silicone, because I think that paper and cork coasters are useless since they just get soaked and then get the table wet anyways. Overall, I think that this is the best subscription box I've ever gotten. All the items are really good quality and pretty much all of them are things I think I'll actually use. This is also probably the cutest subscription box anyone can get so I highly recommend it. You can subscribe to it here. Do you subscribe to any cool boxes? If so, let me know which ones in the comments! xoxo Natalie

As I was going through and updating some things on my blog I stumbled across my 30 Before 30 page (not so much stumbled, more like clicked on). After reading over it I realized I had some updating to do. If you never saw my original post here it is for you. 3. Graduate CollegeI did it! I graduated in May of 2016. This was a huge accomplishment for me because I really struggled in college. For the most part I was a really good student and got good grades but there were some classes that I really really struggled with. I remember the nights of staying up until 5am studying for an exam I was sure I was going to fail anyway and thinking to myself that I was never going to make it. Walking across the stage felt to surreal, mostly because when I got handed my diploma I thought "that's it?". Its a pretty huge diploma (see picture above) but it still didn't feel like much after sitting through 5 years of classes, exams, and endless hours of homework. Looking back though it was all worth it in order to be able to write "Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, 2016" on my resume. Here are some more pictures of my graduation courtesy of my cousin (who is a bomb ass photographer). 7. Live in an apartment by myselfThis is half checked off. Since graduating, I have moved to the D.C. area which required me to get an "adult" apartment (aka one that I pay for all on my own). The half check part is that I do not live alone, I live with my boyfriend. Hopefully I'll be posting an apartment tour video soon! 14. Go to a Virginia Tech football game as an alumThis one is pretty self explanatory. It was an extra great game because it was Homecoming and we won! Unfortunately, I got heat stroke and had to leave the game early but it was still very exciting. I got really nostalgic being back in Blacksburg, and honestly missed being a student for about a minute, then I remembered how nice it is to not have homework and to be getting a regular paycheck. 18. Watch all the Lord of the Rings moviesAgain, this one is pretty self explanatory. I watched them all with my sister one day in our old house's basement. And yes, you did read that right, all in one day. Is there anything you checked off your bucket list recently? If so comment below and let me know. xoxo NAtalieAfter a long hiatus from blogging I have decided to start back up again. Again. I have changed a lot since I first started this blog about 3 years ago so I decided to change the appearance of my blog to match. Let me know what you think of this new look in the comments. As a welcome back post I decided would share some recent pictures from my phone and update you along the way. Ready. set. go.This is a photo I posted on Instagram after I went to the Taylor Swift concert. This was for the 1989 tour. I recently was a bridesmaid for my sorority big sister, Amanda. These were some decorations I made for her bridal shower. My sorority's graduation photoshoot. My cap is the one that says "What? Like it's hard?" because yes, it was really hard. (comment if you know what movie that is a quote from). After graduation I took a trip to NYC with my mom, aunt, and my cousins. I took this picture really quickly on our way into central park. Can you believe this was taken with an iphone? I think it's my best iphone photo ever. My boyfriend, Connor, and I at a Phillies game this Summer. Even though I moved to Virginia after graduation I will always be a Philly girl at heart. The best thing to do when its over 90 degrees in DC? Obviously go to the National Zoo and spend all day outside walking. I ended up taking a break by sitting next to this panda statue. Connor and I took a road trip up to Rhode Island this summer to visit his aunt and uncle and we ended up choosing the weekend when water fire was happening. How lucky! All of the bridesmaids in the limo before Amanda's wedding. It was such a beautiful day full of love and laughter. Last but not least, my new-ish kitchen table! This has been with my family for about 10 years and was always very ugly. My parents gave it to me when I went to college to use at my apartment and when I graduated I couldn't afford to replace it. Instead, my dad and I refinished it and it turned out beautiful. It's one of my favorite parts of my apartment. That's all for this post! Let me know in the comments below what kinds of posts you'd like to see in the future. xoxo Natalie |
